Chapter 4 “Flowers from Mud” Pays homage to the designer's roots.
His father was raised by his 6 brothers and immigrated from Trinidad & Tobago to America utilizing their talent in music as a means to leave trinidad. While his great grandfather immigrated from China to Trinidad & Tobago selling oysters among other things to survive. Immigration is a subject that is rarely looked in depth upon regarding the difficulties of coming to a new land before the 2000’s. Physical labor was exhausted to the highest extent pushing people to their limits to form a new start somewhere else.
Muted Desires hopes to touch on the forgotten journeys taken to start anew. Labeling the journey flowers from Mud.
